Council Meeting Report - 3/2/26

This council meeting included several discussions focused on Bedford's future and how residents can become more involved in local government.
One of the biggest topics was the City's Master Plan process. It was encouraging to see such strong turnout from residents at the recent public meeting, and I believe that level of engagement will help create a stronger vision for Bedford moving forward.
Council also reviewed a new process I drafted for filling vacancies on City boards and commissions. The goal is to make appointments more transparent, establish clear timelines, and create more opportunities for residents who want to serve their community.
We also received a presentation on a county-led effort to explore a unified zoning code among participating communities and discussed a proposed emergency dispatch services agreement.
As always, residents raised important questions during the meeting, including updates on the Union Street Bridge project and parking concerns in residential neighborhoods.
