This meeting included several updates on infrastructure projects, city services, and economic development efforts taking place throughout Bedford.
One of the highlights was the announcement that NOACA approved $475,000 in funding for the next phase of the Metroparks Connection Project. These funds will help construct a trail connecting Bedford Commons to Viaduct Park, advancing a project that has been identified as a priority in multiple City planning efforts.
Council also discussed a proposal to provide temporary water bill relief for multifamily properties undergoing renovations. The goal is to support property owners who are investing in improvements while units are temporarily vacant during construction.
In addition, Council approved the purchase of several vehicles for the Service and Parks Departments, received updates on the Union Street Bridge project, and continued discussions regarding emergency dispatch services. Residents also shared their thoughts on the proposed dispatch changes during public comment.
